At Kellie’s Academy for Kids, we create an environment with something for everyone to love. We believe in serving families by providing an environment that is happy, safe, nurturing, educational, and rewarding for all. When your children reach preschool age, it’s a valuable window of time in their mental and physical development to expose them to a variety of interactive and multisensory experiences to encourage learning and communication. Our preschool program is specifically designed to foster creative educational experiences in a relaxed, social, and safe space. The curriculum is designed to meet early learning standards established by the California Department of Education, California Preschool Learning Foundations and Curriculum Frameworks.
Program and facilities
Our preschool program promotes and stimulates your child’s intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, along with building his or her self-esteem, thanks to the tailored schedules planned by qualified early education instructors. We create an emergent and play-based program that incorporates age-appropriate academics in a fun way based on a weekly theme parents can view in detail in the classrooms.
Classes and activities
Our preschool class is available for children ages 2 through 5 years old. Class options include full-day attendance two to four days per week, or half-days from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from two to five days per week.
In each class, there is always at least 1 adult for every 9 children at age 2 to ensure safety, supervision, and personal attention. For children aged 3 to 5, the ratio is 1 adult for every 12 children. All our teachers are qualified in the field of Early Childhood Education and have completed training specifically designed for this age group. We choose our instructors for their caring attitude and genuine enjoyment of children.
We serve snacks in the morning and the afternoon, while parents are responsible for providing a lunch. After lunch, children rest during naptime. Weather permitting, Kellie Academy for Kids has a large outdoor playground for mornings and afternoons. Our yard has swing sets, a big climber, smaller climbers, bikes and a cute bike path, balls, a sand box, lots of toys, and a nice shade structure. It is fenced in and we have a double gate entry system to ensure your child’s safety and to both meet and exceed all state regulations.
The daily schedule follows a weekly theme that can include interesting experiences involving:
- Arts and crafts
- Language arts and literature
- Science
- Music
- Dramatic play
- Cognitive activities that encourage pre-math, pre-reading, and pre-writing skills
- Play yard
